About

My name is Amanda Huynh, and I have no official middle name. I was born in Lethbridge, Alberta on August 16th, 1986 to some very proud parents and a big brother. Another brother was born some years later and I grew up as the awkward, tomboy-ish middle child.
I did well in grade school, both in academics and co-curricular activities. Played piano, played rugby and did an obscene amount of volunteer work which, in a small city, really feels like you’re making a difference. I graduated as the president of my class at Winston Churchill High School in 2004 and had a hand in every single club and society the school offered. Like in Rushmore, yeah.
Upon graduating, I picked up and moved to Vancouver for studies at the University of British Columbia in Art History and Film. I did this for one year and am still in Vancouver, but in a much snazzier establishment named the Emily Carr Institute University of Art + Design + Media. I am now pursuing a Bachelors of Industrial Design with some swell classmates. The only volunteer work I ever get to do now is for the Vancouver School Board, as a mentor for gifted children. And at the UBC Farm, as a farmer and summer camp leader.
I like fake mustaches, snailmail, sewing buttons onto things, having dinner parties, dancing (!), butter tarts and bad pop music.
If you don’t know me in real life, (or even if you do?) I don’t imagine this website will be terribly interesting for you. I only ever started keeping a journal so that my friends back home knew what I was up to.
somewhereoverthere originally began in July 2006. It was restarted from scratch in July 2008.
